This artwork stuck out to me because it showed three healthcare workers helping a patient. I think this captured what it means to be a nurse and part of a healthcare team. Each person plays an important role in taking care of the patient and everyone has their own responsibilities. This image shows the caring response from a passionate team of workers and reminds us of what it means to be a nurse. The reason I have always wanted to become a nurse is because I like to help others. I like to make people feel cared for and to put a smile on their face. This is an art and takes time to develop. From building relationships with patients and their families, to applying your clinical skills towards your practice. It all comes together as one in your patient care. I am excited to further my education and to make a difference in my patients lives for many years to come.

Eric, great choice of art work! I wanted to become a nurse for the same reasons. This painting shows teamwork in saving someones life, such an act of compassion. Building relationships with family and helping people when they are at their worst shows a great deal of compassion. My artwork focused more on seeing patients for their inner beauty and story while your choice focused more on the helpful nurses. I think that these are both concepts that involve compassion. Great work!
Eric, I’ve not seen this choice before but I really like it. You do however, need to go back and cite the artist and give the credit they are due. Having said that, I love your interpretation of the painting , and I am delighted you will be joining the profession. I hope it will be as satisfying to you as it has been to me.
I have a similar insight into this painting as you do. I see all of the healthcare workers being productive members of the health care team, showing care and passion in the work that they are doing. Nurses hold these special characteristics that not everyone has. They have to be able to remain calm and collected in stressful situations. They have to show there knowledge while a lot of things are unknown. Most importantly, they have to show each patient a level of care that is unmatched by anyone else. Nursing is more than just a profession, it is an art. I agree with your response to this painting and believe you will make an awesome nurse!
This is a very powerful image and really encompasses inter-professionalism. For my art I chose a photo I had taken which when edited revealed a path through seemingly dense woods. Which to me represented us as new grad nurses wandering through uncharted territory until we find our path. This was similar to your piece in the sense that in order to find that path and care for others you need to build relationships and hone your clinical skills. While our art may have been different and have different meanings to each of us they both looked at two sides of the same coin.
Great post Eric! I liked the image you chose and the paragraph you wrote with it. I felt that your connection was similar to mine in that nurses are caregivers and are passionate about what they do. I liked how you wrote about the fact that both art and nursing take time. In both of these skills, there is a lot that needs to happen before we are a perfect artist or nurse. I liked the image you chose because it shows how much of a team healthcare workers are but also you touched upon how everyone has a different job, which I think is true. Again, nice job!
